This note records eight weddings preformed by Mather in 1717. It’s an interesting bit of archival material, if for no other reason than that it reminds one of Mather’s pastoral work. As much as he was engaged in Bible commentary and theological endeavors, he also attended to the day-to-day religious life of his congregation, including performing marriages like these.
